My word for 2022

I saw this headline: “Craving Books, Sex and Revolution,” and I agreed wholeheartedly with it, thinking that it was describing someone’s thoughts and feelings as a result of the pandemic.

In fact, it was describing a book that was published in 1997 — and while I did not read up more, I felt that those feelings encapsulated in the headline mirror the emotions felt by many during this pandemic, and felt that they are worth exploring further on this side of the recovery.

In fact, it safe to say that the pandemic itself was a revolution, as it has caused life to flow in places that it hasn’t, and in ways that it hasn’t — and it has brought important issues to the forefront, even as we stall to figure it all out.

However, even as the present situation may feel daunting to some, I feel that we are poised at the door of a new and breathtaking future, and that God wants us to take the time to get things right before we move to the next phase of our planet.

During our lockdown phase and even the months since, many of us were saddled with pent up emotions, hopes and dreams, and a distaste for certain attitudes and behaviors, and it is these emotions that will guide us into the future that awaits us, even as each of our progress is met through our daily tasks.

So, how many of you have been craving knowledge? Or have been imbued with some to share?

During these past months I have written books, articles, posts and more, and I am quite aware that the public has been longing for true knowledge, or enlightenment, to come into the world, because with so much time on our hands, what else would we be needing?

Obviously, sex has had its role as well, in reviving us for the present and the future, but armed with such a revival, and imbued with knowledge from that which is around us, what would be next?

A revolution, of course!

As I sit and look out my window and look upon the world, I see all of us being saddled with the simple task of loving fluently, with discipline and with action.

As someone who is passionate about social justice, peace, and the rights of the disenfranchised, I have sat in America with the longing that we will come to terms with the past that was sown through the revolutions of today.

It is with gratitude that I think of George Floyd especially, as his ever-flowing life was a watershed moment for policing in America, the future rights of Black and Brown citizens, and the rights of everyone across the world.

Despite these grave issues, we have an even bigger issue at hand, which is how we talk to each other and about each other, which I desire greatly to improve.

During the Donald Trump presidency, we’ve had so many terms come up in our public vocabulary that have been derogatory, unkind and the result of an undisciplined mouth, and thankfully, we were able to silence him for an interim, so as to safeguard our healthy future.

If it was not obvious to anybody, Donald Trump’s evil mouth brought on coronavirus and a host of other issues, as God wanted us to recognize the value of kind words, lovingkindness, and speaking blessings all round.

God loves us, and GOD IS LOVE, so it is only such acts and actions that will prove profitable for the people. Anything else will destroy us.

As President Biden continues to win us over with his patience, his impassioned persona, and his commitment to lovingkindness for the needy, I continue to desire and support presidencies that will keep the rights of the poor at the forefront of the nation.

Thankfully, we have learned the value of the balance of resources so as to defend from future breakdowns and I expect to see this play out in the days ahead.

America defends its right as the leader of the world, and if this indeed is true, we have to keep up with positive civic changes at home.

With newly sworn in leaders as impassioned as Eric Adams here in New York City, and I am sure, countless others around the world, I am looking forward to the expectant future that has been prepared for us all.

How about you?

Have you been able to generate thoughts on wellbeing even as you have been through trial, after trial, after trial?

It is important that every human being have this wonderful skill, which is to be able to create a future mentally, before it is acted out physically.

This is our most important survival skill, as it is necessary to have a mind that will surmount any drama that is applied!

My Christian faith has been the hammer that deliver the blows for me, so I am able to outwit the enemy when it seeks to arise over me.

This is your task today, if you are not mentally there yet. Find a way to keep yourself happy, even if it means admitting your weakest flaw. You may find that if your heart is able to speak its truths fairly, your mind will find a way to go on. There is a future yet for everyone.

Fly into the one that awaits you.
